What factors were most important to you when choosing a new home?
I wanted to stay in Skipton and be close to work yet in the countryside. The Alders ticked these boxes. Part Exchange also removed a lot of the stress. I also wanted a plot with lots of greenery and an edge-of-development location.
Why did you choose a three-storey home like the Thames?
I was sold on the layout before. The reason why I wanted a three-storey home here was the views from the top floor. I’ve made one of the rooms on the top floor an office and it’s a pleasure to work from there. The things that stood out for me were the garden size, spacious rooms and I like the attached garage.
How was your experience of the purchasing process with Skipton Properties?
I honestly expected it to be stressful, but I was wrong. It was relaxed. I particularly enjoyed coming to my various appointments to see my home at different stages of build. Any minor issues I raised before completion were dealt with before I moved in. I was expecting the new build ‘stigma’ but I was incorrect.
Is there anything you would improve?
I can’t think of anything and I also don’t mind being on a live development!

I am absolutely thrilled to share the wonderful success of our Show Home launch at The Willows. It was a true pleasure to meet so many of you and receive your glowing feedback on our Show Home. Your kind words and enthusiasm mean the world to all of us.
The Willows development looked stunning, a testament to the hard work and dedication our team has poured into every detail. From the initial planning stages to the finishing touches, creating our homes is always a labour of love, and our passion for building exceptional homes that set us apart is evident in every aspect of The Willows.
I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to our wonderful and passionate team. Together, we are creating not just houses, but homes where families can thrive and create lasting memories.

Housing Market Poised for Growth Amid Lower Mortgage Rates and Political Stability
The housing market is showing promising signs of growth, as key uncertainties have been addressed, paving the way for increased home-mover confidence. According to Tim Bannister, Rightmove’s director of property science, “Three major uncertainties hanging over the property market at the start of the year were when the first interest rate cut would be, and the timing and the result of the general election. We’ve now got the political certainty of a new government with a large majority, which we expect will help home-mover confidence.”
This newfound political stability is coupled with encouraging trends in mortgage rates. After months of speculation, mortgage rates are gradually decreasing. Market analysts are anticipating an interest rate reduction at the next Bank of England meeting, which is expected to occur in August or September. This reduction is likely to drive rates even lower.

Skipton Properties Donates £4,000 to Brighten Up Foulridge War Memorial
We are delighted to announce our generous donation of £4,000 to Foulridge Parish Council. This contribution has been dedicated to enhancing the war memorial at the heart of Foulridge by funding new planters that will invigorate the community’s environment and ecosystem.
The recent enhancements at the war memorial are part of Skipton Properties’ ongoing commitment to creating thriving communities in the areas where we build. The new planters not only brighten up the local area but also align with the natural stone countryside aesthetic that Foulridge is known for.

Make a smart move with Own New
Exciting news, we’re offering Own New at 5% on selected homes in Skipton and Silsden.
This exclusive opportunity allows our customers to secure significantly lower mortgage rates for a fixed period of two years. By signing up to a new home with Own New, buyers can enjoy significantly reduced mortgage rates, making home-ownership more accessible and affordable in today’s market.
What is Own New?
Own New is designed to give customers a normal mortgage, just with lower rates. Skipton Properties will contribute 5% of the property price to lower your mortgage rate for the first two years. This contribution effectively reduces the lender’s risk, allowing them to offer more favourable terms.
