The Exchange, Shipley: Show Home Launch

Guest blog: Emma Gordon, Eye Candy Interior Design

This exciting new development for Skipton Properties is in Shipley, a popular commuter suburb in between Bradford & Leeds. The Exchange is a beautiful development of contemporary homes. With this in mind we wanted to create a modern, stylish, cutting edge show home that reflects the younger demographic that might purchase one of these two bedroom properties.

We have added more colour to the interiors on this occasion with a striking palette of dark green, mustard ,navy & greys and have introduced a subtle 1950’s retro/scandi feel, both of which are very ‘on trend’ right now. Together with brass light fittings and striking feature tiles we think you will love this latest show home which opens this Saturday at 10am.

The bottle green sofa & mustard chairs you will find in the living room are made by our upholsterer/furniture maker and were chosen to add colour and depth to the overall scheme, we also love the texture of the velvet fabrics. They are a striking focal point in the room and add a bold splash of colour. The black & white chevron rug is another striking piece from Modern Rugs that grounds the scheme & zones the room.

The navy bed in the master bedroom is from Made and has a simple scandi/retro look to it. Once again we have gone for the velvet fabric so it links to downstairs and adds texture to the room. The Dressing Table and chair from Swoon are another example of clean simple scandi style furniture , we loved the compact shape and size which doesn’t overpower the room but looks very stylish.

The dining table and chairs are also from Made and were chosen because of the lovely grey tones and simple retro looks that worked with the rest of the furniture , the round shape works well and softens the squareness of the room.

Like to see our designs in the flesh? Visit Skipton Properties this Saturday from 10am. After the launch, their usual opening hours will be Thursday – Monday 1a0am – 5pm. For further information on Shipley Exchange please click here.
