Charity update: Manorlands Hospice

Manorlands

The pandemic didn’t stop our fundraising efforts for local charities, but it did put our cheque handover to Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice on hold…

…Fortunately our Managing Director Sarah Barraclough was able to meet with Rachel Binns, Head of Hospice Fundraising at Manorlands Hospice, last month and present her with a cheque for £9,561.

This grand total represents the amount we raised during our virtual team challenge late last year – thank you to all our supporters and sponsors! You might remember that we individually ran, walked, cycled and swam the distance between Skipton and the two European towns it’s twinned with (a total of 912 miles!)

Sarah Barraclough said: “Manorlands Hospice carries out essential work in our local area and it’s a cause that is very close to our hearts. We heard that the Coronavirus pandemic was having a huge impact on their funding, and we wanted to do raise as much money as we could to show our support.”

Rachel Binns said: “We’re so grateful to the team at Skipton Properties for taking on this challenge to support our hospice during what has been a very challenging time.  We remain heavily reliant on individuals and companies donating and fundraising for us so our nurses, doctors and healthcare teams can continue to provide specialist care and fill last days with love.”

Manorlands Hospice is located in Oxenhope and provides expert palliative care, advice and support for people across Bradford and Craven who are living with life-limiting conditions, as well as supporting their families. It also offers community services for people who prefer to receive palliative care at home. Find out more about the hospice here and more about the Sue Ryder charity here.
