  • Celebrating 2 years as Site Manager

    A skilled site manager combines technical expertise, outstanding communication abilities, and problem-solving prowess. At Skipton Properties, we are dedicated to exceeding these standards, delivering unmatched quality and expert craftsmanship for our valued homeowners.

    We’re approaching this work anniversary with a unique twist, and now, we’ll hand the mic over to John himself!

    I’ve had the privilege of serving as the Site Manager at Skipton Properties for a solid two years. Over this period, I’ve played a significant role in several projects, with Ebor Mills marking my initial venture. We constructed new homes at Ebor Mills and masterfully transformed the existing Warehouse and Spinning Mill. It was a true labour of passion, but the final outcome justified all the sweat and toil. What’s more, I’m thrilled to share that we’ve recently earned an LABC award for said development, an achievement I take immense pride in! You can read more on that here.

    I was asked, what’s the driving force behind my continued presence here? It’s the incredible team I’m fortunate to work with. I’ve just transitioned to The Alders in Skipton, where we’re in the midst of building 77 new residences. Commencing work on a project already in progress can be a bit challenging, but I genuinely can’t wait to dive in and contribute!

    If you were to inquire about my aspirations for the next two years, I’d hope to find myself right here, doing what I’m passionate about, overseeing the development process and witnessing the creation of our magnificent homes.

    What motivated you to choose The Alders in Skipton as your new home?

    As someone originally from Skipton, I had a strong desire to return to this town so that our young son could experience growing up in a place that holds a special place in my heart. Given its proximity to my family and childhood home, selecting The Alders was easy for us. We decided to reserve one right away!

    “The floor plan really captivated us, from the inviting and snug lounge to the open-concept kitchen and dining area. However, what truly stood out was the spacious hallway, flooded with natural light through its numerous windows”.  

    Were you already familiar with Skipton Properties before making your purchase decision? If so, what aspects of our company influenced your choice?

    I had prior knowledge that Skipton Properties is a family-oriented company, and this aspect held great significance for me as someone with a family. It’s reassuring to know that certain family-related considerations are taken into account without even having to ask. In contrast, larger new-build companies tend to treat you as just another number. With Skipton Properties, you’re not just a number; your name knows you’re known by your name. Even after moving in, everyone has continued to be warm, friendly, and eager to assist, which has left a lasting positive impression.

    Can you share your experience of purchasing a new home with us?

    Our experience with Skipton Properties was excellent, although we encountered a minor setback when our initial buyer withdrew. However, you went above and beyond to ensure that we secured a home in our desired location, and we couldn’t be more thrilled. Working with Karen was a pleasure; she was extremely accommodating, provided that personal touch, and attentively considered all of our requests, ultimately delivering precisely what we had envisioned.

    What specifically led you to select ‘The Curlew’?

    The floor plan really captivated us, from the inviting and snug lounge to the open-concept kitchen and dining area. However, what truly stood out was the spacious hallway, flooded with natural light through its numerous windows. Additionally, we appreciate the convenience of having the garage adjacent to our home rather than tucked around a corner, and the ideal cul-de-sac location was also a major draw for us!

    Celebrating an exciting first year with Gracie

    What a year it has been! Gracie has successfully completed her first year of college, pursuing a career in Construction and the Built Environment. At Skipton Properties, we prioritise investing in our employees, and it’s fantastic to have Gracie on board as she hones her skills and gains invaluable experience in the world of construction.

    We sat down with Gracie to reflect on her first year with us, and she had nothing but positive things to say: “It’s been great! I’ve worked alongside some highly experienced Site Managers who have generously shared their knowledge, helping me excel in my college studies. And whilst here, I’ve had the privilege of contributing to three distinct developments.”

    Gracie began her journey at Ebor Mills in Haworth, a project that captured her heart due to its intricate details and unique conversions. From there, she made her way to Skipton, where she witnessed the transformation of the green fields of The Alders into beautifully crafted homes.

    And now, she finds herself at our newest development, Croft Mill in Foulridge, working closely with David. Gracie says her experience has been nothing short of fascinating. She joined when the very first foundations were being laid and has watched these homes take shape from the ground up. We’ve made remarkable progress already, and there’s so much more to look forward to here!
