HomeBuy Direct Deadline Extended!

The Homes and Communities Agency announced on the 23rd November that the increasingly popular Government backed shared equity scheme, HomeBuy Direct has been extended until September 2010.
The scheme was due to expire in March 2010 but due to unprecedented demand, prospective purchasers have been given additional time to go through the approval process and find a suitable property.
In this continuing difficult economic climate, Homebuy Direct focuses on helping First Time Buyers and Key Workers purchase a home that they would probably struggle to afford. Purchasers are able to pay just 70% of the asking price now and staircase buy the remaining 30% share over several years.
Skipton Properties have seen extremely high levels of interest at their Grove Mills site in Keighley over the last 6 months and already have 10 occupiers who have used the scheme.
HomeBuy Direct is only available through a limited number of developers in West Yorkshire and Skipton Properties one of the few able to offer the scheme in the immediate area.
Prices start at £119,950 at Grove Mills, Keighley for a 2 bedroom home with garden (70% share price only £83,965). The scheme is also available at the Carrfield Mill site at Todmorden which has a selection 3 bedroom homes starting at £139,950 (only £97,965 for a 70% share).
