£5,675.25 raised at Haworth 1940s weekend

Every year Haworth goes back in time to the 1940s. The event draws over 25,000 visitors to Haworth each year. Visitors are encouraged to dress in their 1940s best! For the past few years we’ve allowed Wydean Weaving to park cars on the land at Bridge House Mills, this year was a little challenging due to the weather we were experiencing, but we managed to make it work!

The main beneficiary this year from the money raised is the Pilgrim Bandits Charity which helps wounded soldiers, a large chunk also goes to local charities. We nominated So Sally Can Wait, a charity raising funds for Sally Jayne who lost her battle with cancer earlier this year. They’ll be receiving £500 of the funds raised.

We’d like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to the team at Wyedean Weaving for organising it all, to Airedale Springs for their car park and to our team on site who prepared the ground to make this all happen!

If you’d like a quick look at our development in its early stages as the cars were parking you can click here which will take you to the time lapse video from Wydean Weaving on You Tube.
